We recently talked about global expansion and the importance of communicating in your target audience’s local language.

Now, think about this: If you can’t understand a product or service description, or if it’s poorly translated, would you buy it? Would it give you confidence?

When I come across bad translations, I start questioning:

  • Is this site secure, or is it a scam?
  • What’s the quality of the product or service?
  • Will customer service be reliable?

And it turns out, I’m not alone.

According to CSA Research & The LO-C 30 Report:

  • 65% of consumers prefer content in their own language.
  • 75% of customers in non-English markets are more likely to buy again if customer care is in their language.
  • Companies using language capabilities are 30% more successful in exporting than those that don’t.

The Institute of Translation & Interpreting echoes this with a simple truth:

“Can’t Read, Won’t Buy.”

So, if you’re expanding globally, localisation isn’t optional—it’s essential.

Are you making sure your brand speaks your customers’ language? Let’s talk.
