Remote Simultaneous Interpreting – the bridge to live classroom training in the Covid-era?
Recently we have received a number of requests for Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI) as part of live global #training delivery. For the uninitiated, this involves an English-speaking trainer broadcasting a webinar live, with remote #interpreters #translating simultaneously for the course participants in their own #language. Likewise, questions from participants can be translated and directed to the trainer in real time.
This got us thinking – could RSI provide the bridge to live training delivery for Covid-era global business? The logistics of time zones and concerns around session length and demands on interpreters and participants when it comes to concentration are all considerations. However, we feel sure this is not just a training delivery fad.
We’d be interested to know your thoughts and experiences of #RSI as part of training delivery. And if you’re considering using RSI in a future project, we’d be happy to assist with scoping the project out. #letstalk
